My Design Works during Diploma of Design Semester 1 at Swinburne University
Hello everyone!
I'm back with a new post regarding my design works.
Recently, I just finished my 8 months Diploma of Design course at the Swinburne University of Technology. So, I decided, why not post some of my design works during the course?
For the course, it's split into 2 semesters.
So, today, I will post my 1st semesters' design works which contain 3D Communication, Communication for Design, Digital Design and 20th Century Design.
So, today, I will post my 1st semesters' design works which contain 3D Communication, Communication for Design, Digital Design and 20th Century Design.
1. 3D Communication
Monogram Design
The monogram design is based on my initials T.T.H (Tzer Hooi Tang). Link to the monogram design: Monogram Design.
iPhone Case Design Portfolio
My final phone case design which based on the colors of the galaxy with subtle grey tones. Check out the full portfolio of my phone case design: iPhone Case Design Portfolio.
Magazine Cover Illustration
My final magazine cover illustration for Intelligence Magazine (not published anywhere else except my blog as I wasn't sending to a real client and was part of the assignment). Check out the full portfolio of my illustration here.
2. Communication for Design
Type Specimen Poster/Booklet
For the type specimen poster/booklet, I chose the Broadway font as it's an elegant and decorative font that brings out a modern 'Broadway' musical feel. Check out my final full poster in the Type Specimen Poster/Booklet link.
Type Prose & Photography Booklet
For the type prose and photography booklet, I compiled some of my favorite poetries from famous people: William Shakespeare, Lewis Carroll, Emily Bronte, and Roald Dahl. Check it out by clicking on the Type Prose & Photography Booklet link.
3. Digital Design
For the t-shirt design, I used the brand LUNA and sunset and modern contemporary as my theme. Through the design processes of it, I've only used Adobe Photoshop to create and place my t-shirt logo/design as I was running out time to make it look vector-like. Check it out here: Front ( T-shirt Design (Front) and Back (T-shirt Design (Back) ).
For the postcards, I chose Swiss Style as my art movement and flower as my main theme. When I was creating these postcards, I decided to make modern yet complex Swiss Style as from my view, postcards nowadays use only photographs and fonts that are out of date. Check out my postcard design in this link: Swiss Style Postcards.
For the community poster design, I chose Australia's Biggest Morning Tea as my client as there was an upcoming event during May 2018 and to support my parent's relatives who died of cancer. Check it out here: Community Poster for Australia's Biggest Morning Tea 2018.
4. 20th Century Design
For the typographic intervention, I work with my 5 other friends in my class to come down what kind of design, slogan and art movement for our final typographic intervention.
For the final design, we went this design above with the slogan 'Phone Down Speak Up' as many people speak and text through their phones, and the art movement 'Constructivism' (click on the link for more info about the art movement) using three colors of spray paint: pink, yellow & blue. This was painted on the school grounds in Swinburne University near Glenferrie Station.

That's is the end of my post!
